TWL vs SOWPODS — which should I use?

TWL (Tournament Word List, also called OWL or TWL06) is the official dictionary for North American Scrabble tournaments and most North American club play.

SOWPODS (Collins Scrabble Words) is used in international and British tournaments. It is a superset of TWL — it contains all TWL words plus several thousand more.

If you play on Scrabble GO or Words With Friends, those apps use their own word lists which may differ slightly from both. This checker uses the official tournament dictionaries.
